Emma is a Partner and specialist family solicitor with particular expertise in complex children matters and non-court dispute resolution. Known for her calm, compassionate and pragmatic approach, she helps parents and families find practical solutions during periods of significant change and uncertainty.
In 2025, Emma was Highly Commended in the Solicitor of the Year category at the Family Law Week Recognition Awards, recognising her work supporting children and vulnerable clients.
Emma advises parents on a wide range of private children matters, including arrangements for where children should live and the time they spend with each parent, parental responsibility, relocation and cases involving safeguarding concerns or allegations of domestic abuse. She understands how emotionally difficult children disputes can be and remains focused on achieving safe, workable and child-centred outcomes.
Emma has a background working with individuals affected by domestic abuse and mental health difficulties and is qualified as both an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) and an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA). This experience is central to the empathetic and considered approach she brings to her work, particularly when supporting vulnerable clients or families experiencing conflict.
Wherever possible, Emma helps families resolve matters without court proceedings. As an FMC-accredited family mediator, she conducts Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs) and provides mediation in both children and financial matters. She is also a collaborative lawyer and trained Resolution Together practitioner, enabling her to offer different forms of non-court dispute resolution tailored to the needs of each family.
Where court proceedings are necessary to protect a client or child, Emma conducts her own advocacy. This provides clients with continuity and reassurance, as they are represented in court by the solicitor who knows them, their family and their case.
Emma has particular knowledge of the challenges Armed Forces families may face, including child arrangements during deployment or relocation, military pensions and the wider practical impact of separation on service families.
In addition to her family law practice, Emma is the firm’s specialist for Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. She helps clients protect their wishes, make appropriate provision for their families and plan confidently for the future.
